Oviyon and Neza are in the palm wine joint.
Oviyon is on the phone.
Neza is behind him, trying to listen in on the conversation.
Oviyon says he's available to travel to Canada.
He asks how long he's going for.
He's told, 2 months

After the call, Neza asks who he was talking to.
Oviyon says it's the people in charge of the government grant and they want him to go to Canada.
Neza says they are going to Canada.
Oviyon says it's just him.
He is quite excited.

Folake gets a call from her mother who asks why she hasn't seen her in almost a year.
Folake says it's the school she teaches in that takes up all her time.
Her mother asks if she's coming for Christmas at least since the children are on holiday.
Folake says she registered as a volunteer for a programme in Benin Republic and it will enable her to secure an international Masters scholarship.
Her mother says it's not a bad move at all.

Fonton meets Oviyon and Neza at the palm wine joint.
He tells Oviyon not to go to the farm because of Jegba people.
Oviyon says the Otogan of Jegbahas come to negotiate with Obi.
Fonton says he heard the Otogan is dangerously violent and even killed his brother to assume the position.
Oviyon says he seems like a nice man.

Fonton says Iya is missing Oviyon so he needs to return home.

Oviyon comes to see his mother.
She welcomes him coldly.
He asks how she's doing.
She says she's fine.

He takes the tray of Egusi she is cracking with her fingers and sets it aside.
He sits on the arm of her chair and apologises to her.
She says she has forgiven him.
She offers him food and asks if he will get his bags first.
He tells her he's not coming back because she was right when she said he needed to let go of her wrapper.
She tells him that it doesn't mean he will keep away from her.
They laugh about it.
She tells him Daddy Love made some pepper soup and yam.
He puts a side table in front of him and tells her to bring it.
She asks if he wants to eat just because she said it was prepared by Daddy Love.

Matron comes to meet Senami in her office.
She says she wants them to talk.
Senami asks if she now wants to talk or still wants to drag it out for a few more weeks so she gets confused again.
Zansi says she's had her powers since she was a little girl and doesn't know how she got them; when she was a little girl, her mother called her and told her she wanted to give her a gift, then she died the next day.
Senami asks if she has had powers since then.
Zansi says not until she was a teenager, she went for a festival and saw some boys who were drunk.
Senami asks if they hurt her
Zansi says they tried to and Iya Minasu, who was nearby, tried to help her but the boys overpowered her and the next thing she knew was that the boys were on the ground, unconscious.
Iya Minasu wasn't affected and she took Zansi home and kept her secret.
Senami asks why her grandmother wasn't affected.
Zansi says Senami comes from a long line of custodians, the people who passed the oral history of Aji people and they were always protected.
Senami is surprised.
Zansi says that was what the stone was for until Iya Minasu annoyed the old Mausi who took the powers away.
Senami asks what then happened.
Zansi says when the old Mausi died, the new one cut off her hands and gave to Iya Minasu as a replacement.
She says she tried to protect Senami, to set Senami free.
Senami looks more confused.
Matron says Senami had touched them and they've tied their powers to her so she cannot leave.

Sejiro is standing by the river, crying.

She walks into the bush and begins to dig up the sand.
She brings out her old Akweyon attire.

Mausi is in the clinic drinking water on her bed.
Obi comes in.
He tells her he has come meet her regarding the shrine.
She says her answer won't change.
He says he thought she was after the good of the people of Aji and the free trade zone will help to build Aji.
She says the price is too high because to remove the shrine, there needs to be bloodshed and to rebuild it, there must also be blood ritual.
Obi says he heard the shrine had been moved before.
Mausi says they used prisoners of the war from Jegba and it was a risk but the gods smiled on them and even if they find the people to use now, she's in no capacity to do it.

Obi says what about Peace?
Mausi says Peace doesn't possess the means to do so.
She asks if he really wants to sacrifice people.
Obi asks if there is another way
Mausi says the only other way is to tell the government to stay away
Obi says he already tried and it didn't work.
Mausi says then they have will die.

A group of people are seated in front of Iya's house for the marriage between Its Oviyon and Daddy Love.

Oviyon goes inside to urge his mother to hurry up.
She says she's getting ready.

Fonton comes inside to also ask Iya to hurry up and come outside because Daddy Love will soon be there.
Iya says she's not doing again.
Oviyon laughs.
Fonton says that was the same thing Iya did when his brother wanted to marry her.

Daddy Love arrives and says he has come to pluck the only flower in the house.
Fonton sends some people women to get Iya Ovyion.

Oviyon and the women bring Iya who is beautifully dressed in traditional attire

Fonton asks the couple one after the other if they want each other.
They respond in the affirmative.
Fonton prays the gods of the land blesses them with a good life.
Everyone starts singing, 'Oje Oje Ajirakhome!'

Oviyon comes to meet Senami at the lodge.
He laughs as he tells her how his mother first refused to come out of the house.
He sees the worried look on her face and asks what the issue is.
She says apparently she can't leave Aji because she's some sort of custodian plus those damn hands.
He asks what hand she's talking about.
She says the hands were cut off from old Mausi
He asks if it's like a skeleton.
She says it's up to the elbow and they dried it to look like Kilishi.
Oviyon shouts 'Heey!'
He asks how it means she can't leave
She says she doesn't know the rules, she just knows she touched it and now she can't leave.
She asks what his excuse is for staying in Aji.
He says it's business.
She asks if he knows this is the 21st century.
He says he knows he can conduct his business from anywhere.
He holds her hand and says she knows he's not leaving Aji without her.
She nods.
He says then they will leave together after her service year.
She nods again.

Mausi is coughing.
She tries to reach for her bottle of water on the floor.
Dr Jide walks in and serves her the water.
She drinks and thanks him.
He says it's funny how time changes; one minute, one is high and mighty and the next, lowly and frail
She tells him he's observant.
He says he's also contrite and willing to pay penance for all his wrongdoings.
She asks if that is so.
He says he even came to look for her at the shrine with offerings.
She says he has found her now
He says the gods are merciful.
He says he doesn't want to die and he's willing to make amends.
He tells her he's privy to the possibility of a huge opportunity coming the way of Aji and he's willing to make sure the great people of Aji do not miss the opportunity and do not get the short end of the stick.
She asks if he can do that.
He says the shrine stands in the way of the opportunity and he's willing to help move the shrine

Mausi says the shrine stands on many totems and to move it, the totems need to be unearthed, they are the bones of the dead and if he can remove them, the curse of death on him will be lifted.
He rejoices and assures her that he will not fail.

He runs out in excitement.
Mausi says ' Go and fulfil your destiny.'
