If Nolan had boo in this thing maybe I'd risk it but the way things are? Nah.
While Brad Pitt was very funny in the cold open from new SNL and it was sweet how he thanked the doctors and nurses, the rest of the show was just painful. It just doesn't work when the sketches are weak AND there is no audience's laughter in the background.
So there was this livestream reading of a play and Oscar did this (1,2). Some photos in case you haven't started moaning yet.
Encore Edition was really great and it's impressive Cooper still managed to have good pacing in a movie this long. Black Eyes opening is longer, there are few more scenes and overall if you liked the theatrical version you should really check this one out. I am still so pissed off that this movie only got one Oscar and how they robbed Cooper. Also his direction is outstanding - that sequence of Out of Time playing as Ally is approaching the stage/Jack singing Alibi/Them singing Shallow is one of the finest scenes I've ever seen.
The Lodge was so-so. I read the script before so I knew the story will be weak. Still, the atmosphere was pretty great. And Armitage is so hot but he plays one of the dumbest horror characters of all time in this. His stupidity is seriously hilarious.
About Bad Education, I'm still in state of shook Jackman played a gay man. That's like if Tom Cruise played a gay man. Those guys, who have those rumors circling about them - which imho people should be ashamed of spreading when that person is married with children, it's basically calling their life a lie - never play that part in fear of making those rumors worse. So now that Jackman is free of X-Men franchise it seems like he is really not giving a damn about what people think and just going for whatever projects interest him. As for the film, I loved the execution and that scene with Moby's song was outstanding and probably my favorite scene of the year so far. The performances were very strong. But the script...for a film that was over 90 minutes long I didn't really understand much. How come the flights, the houses, the cars didn't lead to people figuring out something criminal was happening? And why did Janney's character allowed herself to get fired and didn't immediately throw Jackman to the wolves when it became clear he won't defend her?
That seems like very few movies, right? I'm sure you wonder what I've been doing with my time.
I was watching that SNL Watermelon Sugar performance...a lot of times....
In case you missed all the twitter porn I tweeted - 1,2,3,4
And finally, thanks to Brittani I became aware of After and I watched it. Now, there are many things to talk about when it comes to this thing but I just wanna point out ONE. 544 million readers. 544 millions readers. If he started charging money for every orgasm he is responsible for he'd be the richest person in the history of the world.
Hell, even if he was only charging me.
*clears throat*
OK for the big finish I have something amazing for you. I am always so happy when I can link really good stuff here so:
I never saw this video before yesterday because I was legit afraid I'll faint and I almost did.
I don't even know WHAT to say here.
