While shopping on Friday I saw this wine on the shelf and couldn't resist buying it. I took my first few sips yesterday, and now I feel able to describe it.
What's remarkable about Acolon wines is the colour. They're a very dark red, almost purple. It's been a long time since I drank an Acolon wine, so I can't compare it with others. The Rolf Willy wine has a sweet aroma, almost like chocolate. The taste itself isn't what the aroma suggests. It has a thick, sharp taste, almost like Spanish wines. It's not a wine I can drink on a regular basis, but I still have half a bottle left that might change my mind.
