(360) Oh, sweet horror + links

Watch Movies TV -
  • Last Saturday evening I made a spectacularly bad decision to start watching The Haunting of a Hill House
  • The show is fantastic but my God, it is so creepy. There's an incredible twist in episode 5 that is  so nightmarish and I saw that at 3 AM.
  • Oh, man.
  • That was a rough night.
  • Also the kittens scenes in that show.
  • And that jump scare in episode 8. Literally me:
  • I was going to spend the whole October watching horror films but after this I am GOOD, dawg. No more. The endings to episodes 5 and 6 fucked me up so bad. No way I am touching any more scary movies any time soon. On Halloween I will watch Wolves again, just like last year and I will stare at my beautiful Jason and that is it.
  • Apostle was really good. The script could have been better and they really didn't need hardcore supernatural gimp wandering around but other than that it was not disappointing which was a rare trait in stuff I saw over the last seven days - I'll get to that later but I will find a way to punish those who recommended Sorry to Bother You to me.
  • Is there an actor out there more expressive than Dan Stevens? He was incredible. I really wanna watch Legion now.
  • I'm sad to report Bad Times at the El Royale tested my patience so bad I nearly left in spite of Hemsworth being there on the screen. Not just that, I swear his pants were barely hanging on. And yet I was falling asleep there. So that's like the highest level of boring right there. Does Goddard know what editing it is? Because this thing could have been an hour shorter which frankly still wouldn't improve the movie much because the script was such a damn mess. It was all just pointless. There was either wandering around or talking. And singing. If you asked me about any of characters names now I would maybe remember 2.
  • Searching was so innovative and engaging! Scared the shit outta me though with me realizing when people go missing cops go through their hard drive.
  • May I never go missing.
  • I have several separate folders just for pictures of Jason.
  • I watched Sorry to Bother You and that was horrendous. It's so close to being the worst movie of the year. Boring, pseudo-woke and just weird for the sake of weird. Please keep those 'message' movies away from me, thank you. I should have known what I was in for when Thirsty Armie showed up. That dude is gonna be my detector for movies that are definitely not worth my time. Also the fact Tessa Thompson is in everything these days has officially made her boring. She is not that great, let's calm down with casting her.
  • As predicted the latest episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse was amazing.
  • Jessica Lange came back and absolutely slayed, obviously. I cannot believe at some of the fanservice Murphy generously thrown at us, e.g. Ben actually referencing his habit of masturbating and crying. And Madison was incredible as always. I really love her character development this season. Sarah Paulson did a great job directing this episode.
  • I have no idea what is happening on SNL lately because I have been avoiding it. I just cannot stand Pete Davidson and his horrendous jokes. Looks like that Ariana chick finally wised up. Now can they stop featuring him? The fact he is ill does not excuse his jokes about changing her birth control to sugar pills. Jonah Hill is hosting tomorrow and I like him so I'll tune in and hopefully this Davidson mess is nowhere to be seen.
  • Trailer for Destroyer featuring one hell of a transformation from Nicole Kidman (here's the poster). Sebastian Stan is also there so tumblr gifs section of this is currently gifs of him made by a bunch of thirsty teenagers and the set by straight up elderly for tumblr standards me of Nicole with whopping 29 notes.
  • New TV spot for Vice. This is gonna be so much fun.
  • Venom is going to outgross Justice League. Against all odds Sony has as win and WB really worked hard for that embarrassing loss.
  • And here are adorable photos of Tom and Michelle playing with the dog that was accompanying Stan Lee in his cameo.
  • Is there really nothing else to talk about than bitching about Disney princesses (1,2)?
  • My boo Patrick Wilson and my lady boo Vera Farmiga will show up in Annabelle 3. Still depressed about Wan not coming back to direct The Conjuring 3.
  • And here's truly incredible poster for the film that is directed by the dude who will direct the Conjuring 3 -  The Curse of La Llrona and the trailer. Unfortunately, it looks like they made her into a generic movie monster but kids appear to be protagonists and that usually works well in a horror movie.
  • First not awful poster for Mary Queen of Scots.
  • This looks like an absolute must-see.
  • One of my all time favorite movies and one I always watch on Halloween - Practical Magic - just turned 20!
  • It looks like Singer is finally going down. I wonder who is going to be revealed as his associates.
  • Olivia Colman is going lead for The Favourite in the Oscar season. This is terrific news for Amy Adams and very bad news for Glenn Close and Lady Gaga.
  • But behold, just in case the Academy Award goes for Regina King instead..Amy has this prepared - The Woman in the Window adaptation and she looks truly rough here. Like I do on Mondays. Which is to say - horrific.
  • Award season has began - Gotham Awards nominations were announced. I'm very glad to see First Reformed there. Still the best movie of the year for me.
  • Good God, CAN YOU IMAGINE?!
  • This week in I can't believe he actually walks the Earth chapter of RF:
  • *they found me crying in the ditch*
  • The greatest use of "I just want to take another look at you" meme yet.
  • First TV spot for Aquaman is here and it is amazing!
  • We get another look at Mera's powers and Jason fighting shirtless! YEY!
  • And here are the photos from Total Film:
  • "Getting wet and wild".....sounds like me on opening night.
  • I'm not sure what is more likely - that I will die there or that I will be asked to leave because I will moan too loud.
  • Probably that we will ALL DROWN.
  • Also James Wan must be the straightest man alive. I cannot believe he was able to turn his eyes away from that sight.
  • Jordan and Brittani review Bad Times at the El Royale
  • Alex and Katy review First Man
  • Allie is yet another person in the blogosphere who enjoyed Venom. Suck it, "professional" critics!
  • Courtney writes about Green Book
  • Keith reviews Apostle
  • Sonia saw The Conjuring and liked it. For the love of God, Mario, just watch it!
